Sourcing top talent in a noisy, competitive, and cutthroat business world poses many challenges, unless you have a set of parameters that you never deviate from. I like to use the concept of DRIVE.
1) Disciplined: Individuals that are self-starters and can manage themselves without you having to constantly look over their shoulder is priceless. Hard to find but not impossible, they do exist.
2) Responsibility: People that have a tremendous amount of self-accountability and will take initiative.
3) Integrity: Do they have strong values and do they live their lives by those principles?
4) Vitality: Employees should have energy; a vibe about them that is magnetic, people should be drawn to them.
5) Eager: Do they possess the need to improve, to better their situation, to grow?
Hiring can be daunting, frustrating and can have the feeling of being impossible. Arm yourself with a pedigree makeup that aligns with your values as an organization, with the candidates and the new hires you are sourcing. Happy hunting and as always...
